Consequently, the 20 million illegals that we have today came from that failure to enforce. The same will happen again in another bill is enacted. There is no will in Washington to control our borders and our borders will remain unsecure. NO sovereign nation can afford that. We were told that the 1986 bill was a 'comprehensive' reform but that really wan't the reality just as the current bill will not solve our problems. There is no guarantee of enforcement and there is no justification for rewarding law breaking. We only cheapen the 'rule of law'.
