And to all the people calling “disgusting” and “opening the impressionable boys to rape” you seem to forget that even now no Scout Master is allowed to be alone with a boy, there always has to be two leaders. And what if your son came out of the closet? Would you denounce your own child? Jesus teaches us to love our neighbor, which by usage of the time the bible was written meant everyone. Hating homosexuals/bisexuals is being against everything Jesus and the New Testament stands for. We are taught love and understanding, not hate and discrimination. Please, just look at yourselves, you are coming between who people are and what they love, how would you feel if you had to choose between something as wonderful as being a boyscout and who you truly are at heart?

As a closeted bisexual boyscout, I really hope they lift the ban. I have come to love being a boyscout, but if it comes to choosing between who I am and boyscouts, I will leave boyscouts. Even if I were straight, I was unaware of this ban my entire scouting career. If they vote against lifting this ban, I will leave, not just because of my sexuality, but because I refuse to be associated with such ignorance and bigotry. 2013 really does mean something. Times change, people change. Women can vote, African americans are no longer objects, and there should be no discrimination based on sexuality, race, religion, or gender. To people saying “it isn’t natural”, need I remind you that neither are automobiles or prescription glasses?

Why do people like Bill Gates or Madonna think we care about their opinion? Lots of people who don’t like the Girl Scout liberal agenda have started their own competing organizations, so why don’t people who don’t like Boy Scouts do the same? Those who have screamed for “tolerance” for years refuse to give it to those who disagree with them and immediately start the name calling. The real bigots are those who don’t allow a private organization and those who agree with it to have their own membership standards. “Because it’s 2013″ doesn’t mean a thing!

Gay child molesters have cost the Boy Scouts and the Catholic church millions and millions of dollars. If Bill Gay Gates would like to put one billion dollars of his own money as collateral against gay child molester lawsuits in the Boy Scouts, then he should do so. Until then, he should go back to his NAMBLA meetings and shut up.

Bill Gates? Other than being rich what importance is his view? His is just one of millions. He must of conveniently forgotten that abusive gay scout masters has cost the Boy Scouts millions of dollars in fines/suits….just as gay priests have cost the Catholic Church hundreds of millions. It would be advisable to proceed very carefully in this area.

Ok first off. Gays are not pedophiles. I was in boy scouts my whole life, and there has been more instances of Straight men getting kicked out of the organization for molesting boys. I have never come across a gay scout leader who wanted to sleep around with the kids. Honestly, I would have had a much better time being in a organization where I didn’t have to lie to myself and others. These policies were made a long time ago, time to change and adjust. I get where the point of it being a private Christian organization, and they need to follow a religious lifestyle. Well time to change that, with tons of sponsors pulling back, they are going to make BSA have no choice but to change, which will be a lot better for the whole organization. Theses issues affect the older generation where they have to sit back and watch the nation adapt and progress with social issues. By this year the supreme court will be taking on gigantic issues which could really change the whole aspect of America, and make it a much Gayer :) place for everyone. So Bill Gates is exactly right. If you are a true christian, than you know it is not your place to judge. i have known I was gay since birth, and I do not dread the day I have to face the choices in my life. So on that note Grow up its 2013

WOW. Gates you are an innovater NOT a business manager. You have NO clue on what you say. Our govt’s gridlock is done because we have a group of people that want to take our country down a pth of financial ruin.

Your suggestion that we (the people against these socialsit entitlement ideals) should capitulate and give in is INSANITY & STUPIDITY wrapped in one.

As for the boys scouts, It’s a private organization that has EVERY RIGHT to choose its members as they see fit.
