PM Note: Now Witness the Power of This Fully Armed and Operational Sequestration!

73 Days Later: Things that Happened Since the Last Obama / Boehner Working Meeting - http://abcn.ws/Y4f62X

Obama: "Not a dictator" and "Not a Judge." And he showed himself to not be a trekkie. http://abcn.ws/Z2RooB

Not Apocalypse, Just Dumb - And here's what he said about sequestration, the strange and elaborate budget device by which Washington has engineered a budget cut that kicks in because they couldn't agree on how to avoid it. Usually, it seems like they can't agree on how to cut the budget.

"This is not going to be an apocalypse, I think as some people have said. It's just dumb. And it's going to hurt. It's going to hurt individual people, and it's going to hurt the economy overall," he concluded." http://abcn.ws/15X00ni

Boehner: No New Taxes to Avert Sequester - "This discussion about revenue, in my view, is over," he told reporters at the White House. "It's about taking on the spending problem here in Washington." http://abcn.ws/15WkEUG (Mary Bruce)

Here's the Good News - Underneath the all the agitation and lines in the sand, all the protestations that they just can't see eye to eye - "What do you want me to do?" the President asked a reporter today - there was a really important development. The President said he'd accept a short-term government funding bill from House Republicans. Whew. That means March 27th and the next month are going to be a lot less dramatic. More from Rick Klein here: http://abcn.ws/WtJ5rb

But that government funding news also means this whole sequester thing isn't going anywhere anytime soon. As Obama said today, we'll just have to wait and see if the public feels the pain and gets in touch with lawmakers.

What exactly is going to happen? Sometime between now and midnight the president makes the order to sequester funds. And within about a month, there will be furloughs for some government workers and all the other sequestration consequences.

On Sequester Timeline, Agencies Aren't Talking "There's no calendar of dates for specific actions or cuts on specific dates. Again, these cuts need to be applied equally across all agency programs, activities and projects. There will be wide variation on when impacts will occur depending on a given program," HHS public affairs officer Bill Hall told ABC News. Some cuts won't be felt for a while, because they have to do with government layoffs-which require 30 days notice, in most cases. For instance, the Federal Aviation Administration won't begin layoffs until at least April 7, one FAA official estimated. http://abcn.ws/Vj7qhu(Chris Good)

Obama's 'Jedi Mind Meld' a Sci Fi Faux Pas - It had no real bearing on his press conference about the very serious matter of the U.S. deficit and the upcoming sequester, but the President showed himself to be neither committed Trekkie nor Star Wars fanboy at a White House press conference today. http://abcn.ws/Z2RooB (Z.Byron Wolf)

IRS: Sequester Won't Delay Tax Refunds - Here's some welcome sequester news: The Internal Revenue Service says those across-the-board automatic spending cuts will not delay processing of individual income tax refunds, and may mean fewer audits. The agency has warned its more than 100,000 employees to expect furloughs of one day per pay period - but not until this summer, after tax filing season ends. http://abcn.ws/Wt5zbS (Devin Dwyer)

Rep. King Says Marco Rubio Not Welcome to Raise Money in New York - Rep. Peter King, a New York Republican, is furious that Sen. Marco Rubio is hitting up New Yorkers for campaign cash after voting against federal funds to rebuild the region after superstorm Sandy ravaged the area. In fact, King urged New Yorkers not to give money to any of his fellow Republicans who voted against the Sandy aid. http://abcn.ws/WwMuA7 (Shushannah Walshe)

Budget cuts closes doors - literally - at the Capitol for members of Congress - Here's an ironic effect of sequestration - closed doors on Capitol Hill. Members of Congress soon will have a harder time getting into the Capitol building and their offices due to the across the board and automatic spending cuts that will go into effect tonight at midnight. How the GOP Could Break an Unwritten Rule and Pass Immigration Reform - House Republican leaders eschewed a long-held principle when they held a vote on the Violence Against Women Act on Thursday. Only 87 out of 232 House Republicans backed that bill, but they still chose to bring it to a vote. That decision made all the difference. The bill passed thanks to near-unanimous support from House Democrats and backing from some Republicans. http://abcn.ws/VhXFjE (Jordan Fabian)
