And what platform gave this 'mentality' a bigger voice? You don't have to look much farther than Faux Noise and right wing conservative radio. The secret to running a successful business is developing and implementing strategies and tactics that will allow the company to grow and operate profitably over the long haul. Look at Apple. When Jobs assumed control, the company had a lot of highly leveraged debt and was losing money. Did he take a meat axe to expenses? No, he invested in the development and marketing of the "i" series of products, and today Apple has the second highest market value of all the companies in the world. What do you think it would be if he had focused on balancing his first year's budget and slashed expenses? It's truly ironic. the GOP likes to tout itself as the friend of business, but not a single elected Republican has any business sense. They are also leaderless and being eaten away by the insurrection of the Tea Party. the party won't survive 2013 unless it gets a CEO caliber leader and some education. All they have been doing is regurgitating Reagan's discredited trickledown economics and repeating actions from the Herbert Hoover playbook.
