ABC News’ Michael Falcone rpeorts:
Who wants to get a drink with Mitch McConnell?
On Monday, the senator’s campaign account tweeted this photo of him, apparently at a bar in Kentucky, seated with a beer next to an empty chair and a glass of red wine. The tweet is addressed to both President Obama and Clint Eastwood (also of empty chair fame).
@barackobama @eastwood_ Greetings from coal country! Hazard, KY -MM twitter.com/Team_Mitch/sta…
— Team Mitch (@Team_Mitch) April 29, 2013
This, of course, is McConnell’s way of responding to the president’s jokes over the weekend at the White House Correspondents Association dinner made at McConnell’s expense.
“Recently, I had dinner – it’s been well publicized – I had dinner with a number of the Republican senators,” Obama said. “And I’ll admit it wasn’t easy. I proposed a toast. It died in committee.
“Of course, even after I’ve done all this, some folks still don’t think I spend enough time with Congress. ” he added. “‘Why don’t you get a drink with Mitch McConnell?’ they ask. Really? Why don’t you get a drink with Mitch McConnell? ”
So was McConnell’s joke about the joke actually an invitation to clink glasses with the Kentucky senator?
“I’m shocked. He’s obviously not seeing my soft side,” McConnell said of the president’s ribbing on Monday at the Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, according to the Washington Post’s Karen Tumulty and Sean Sullivan.

MCCONNELL: The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.

Looks like you misspelled McConnell. I know words with double, double letter can confuse some folks… But It actually begins with an “M” and not an “O”… ;-)

ARE YOU KIDDING? THESE MEN HATE PRESIDENT OBAMA SO MUCH THAT THEY WOULD RATHER TEAR THIS COUNTRY TO SHREDS THAN WORK WITH HIM. MCCONNELL AND GRAHAM ARE THE WORST.

LOL…I would call McConnell a tad ‘thinskinned’? Especially after he targeted this president for failure on the very day he was innaugerated. And consistentlu opposed him since, even when it has hurt our nation. Good ‘shot’…Mr. President. Actually, I believe McConnell is in trouble of being re-elected this time around…and he knows it.

No….actually it meant that no one in Kentucky wants drink with the old neanderthal…either. He could be in big trouble this next election period.

Mitch is a jerk and paid off 1000/1 times for siding with big money and taking his percentage. The guy is despicable and deserves no respect from anyone.

So basically even when McConnell is buying no one will drink with him?
Also, is that a latex love doll at the far end of that bar? Where exactly does Mitch drink?

If invited to drink with McConnell, I would say: Can I have a lobotomy instead?

Obama keeps on taking public cheap shots. This is indicative of a cowardly character. I live for the day when one of his victims immediately walks up and punches him right between the eyes.

PLEASE SENATOR McCONNELL, SIR – CAN I HAVE A TOILET?
According to the 2010 U.S. Census, Owsley County in eastern Kentucky, is America’s poorest county. It is like a third world country. (See “America’s poorest county: Proud Appalachians who live without running water or power in region where 40% fall below poverty line”, from The Mail Online, April 23, 2012). Mitch McConnell (R-KY) (a.k.a. “Boss Hogg”) has blocked every bill that would rebuild Kentucky’s infrastructure, and improve the lives of local residents Some of McConnell’s constituents are without indoor plumbing, electricity, and some districts even use open ditches as sewer systems. They are not the Derby crowd that McConnell woos. In Washington, you can’t hear these Kentucky voters cry:
”PLEASE Mr. McConnell, (sobs)l, might we have a few toilets, Sir?”

Get over it people. Obama made some jokes, then McConnell makes some jokes. Kudos to the both of them for showing a lighter side and not hating on each other all the time.

Eastwood and McConnell are right Obama is an empty chair. He hates all white people and refuses to work with Republicans. I believe if we could have a recall election on Obama he would be removed from office.

Perhaps that EMPTY CHAIR is a reference to Clint Eastwood’s Obama as an empty chair routine. Great double meaning

Mitch has made it clear when Obama ran for President in 2008 that he did not like him and didn’t want a black man in the White House. That hate continues today. Other Republicans who have degraded minorities for 5 years are now panding for minority votes. Paul Ryan announced he is meeting a Hispanic group for the first time to ask for their vote. Rand Paul is running for President reached out to Howard University to teach the students black history. Mitch McConnell announced in Jan. 2009 he would only work on assure this President failed and the US had no recovery. Then in Jan. 2012 McConnell said again he would not work with this President and he would be working on getting all Republicans elected. Mitch does dislike male minorities but dumped his wife and kids for a younger female minority. But it seems we see alot of American wealthy old men married foreign women.

I think a lot of people have seen McConnell’s “softer” side. Even when his staff is trying to set up a shot where he looks manly, McConnell comes off looking like a douche. No wonder McConnell’s staff appears to be the only people paying any attention to him (and I’m willing to bet he drank the wine … not the beer, after the photo was taken).

If you were at all objective, you would acknowledge far more damage was done under the previous president. p.s. – speaking of juvenile – look at your “Obozo” comment. Comments like that lower the level of worthwhile discussion.

He’s fortunate enough to be sitting there at a bar enjoying a cold one, while others (who are unemployed and struggling to make a living due to his stupidity and idiotic philosophy that prevent Congress from working together) cannot. Glad that you are enjoying it, Mitch.

Being an Bluegrass Independent, many of the above folks are hitting the nail on the head. Unfortunately, the state has had “too many Mr. Potters (It is a wonderlife movie), that has kept the state hobbled and unable to pay its bills.(Pension Funds).
The new Interstate East End Ohio River Bridge should of been built 30 years ago, but special interest folks won’t let it. The only reason it is finally being built, is because Indiana Governor Daniels, shut the Indiana Interstate 64 Sherman Mitton Bridge down, forcing the state to finally admit it had transportation infrastructure problems.
Population, demongraphic, genders, global markets & other factors all have changed. One can not compete globally, with a fixed Mad (Madison Avenue) Man mentially (1962). It is a beatiful state and there some good folks here. Unfortunately, it is a bluegrass time-warp.

For those of you that still feel Obama isn’t “doing his job”, just look at the 401 filibusters (that means the GOP won’t even allow it to be debated, much less voted upon), which have blocked 401 bills meant to help American recovery from the debacle of Bush’s years, and worse, kept 401 of Bush’s policies in place via blockading progress.

Look at all the haters on this blog. They should look in the mirror and sincerely ask themselves what does their hatred do for them. What’s so appealing about hating this or that? Could it be that it gives them cover to excuse the own faults? Personal responsibility and accountability is the only way to move your life forward. Blaming others for your problems is the way of losers.

You’d think good ole Mitch would “get it” that he and his narrow thinking is NOT even close to what the American people want… Retire Mitch and go away like a good narrow minded lying politician… We’re over you… we’re weary of you and your cronies.. you couldn’t relate to your constituents if you had a brain transplant…. and you sure don’t do what they ask of you. You’ve got your own agenda and that’s all you care about… your very few supporters can call it “hating” …. it’s not hating….it’s just the facts. You’re a lousy representative of the people… and it’s people like you that are destroying this country….PLEASE Mitch….take your lying, cheating, politicial self back home and stay there and leave the real Americans alone…DO NO HARM… anymore!
