President Obama took an unscheduled walk outside the White House on a sunny and warm Monday in Washington. His destination: Starbucks.

The president ordered "some tea" from the barista.

He shook hands with bystanders on the sidewalk and was joined by White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough.

This is the second time in recent weeks that Obama has "snuck" out of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. In May he surprised his ever-present press pool when he strolled from the White House to the Interior Department for an event. Tourists visiting the National Mall were also surprised.
