Hillary Clinton has not visited Iowa in over six years. Her last trip to the state ended on Jan. 4, 2008, when she came in third in the Iowa caucuses behind Barack Obama and John Edwards. Unlike other potential 2016 presidential hopefuls, Clinton has not bothered to spend time in the swing state since her loss.

That will change this weekend when Hillary and Bill Clinton are the guests of honor at Sen. Tom Harkin's annual and final Steak Fry. Harkin wrote on his Facebook page , "Not only is this my last Steak Fry, it's a crucial election year and we need to rally our troops for progressive Iowa champions on the 2014 ballot."

The high-profile event is a good opportunity to re-introduce Clinton to the state, though her spokesman says she is going to support her friend and help raise money for upcoming races. Her Super Pac "Ready for Hillary" will have major presence at the event too.

What happened the last time she was in Iowa? Clinton hit the campaign trail early back in 2007, and made her first stop in the Hawkeye State in January, where she spoke to a large crowd in a high school gymnasium in Des Moines.

She made numerous visits to Iowa throughout the year including the Steak Fry alongside other presidential candidates. At this point, Clinton was still seen as the frontrunner in Iowa. Weeks later, however, she was down in the polls, and suggested it was because the state had never elected a woman governor, senator, or member of Congress.

Her "Middle Class Express" bus tour returned to Iowa in November and made a few pit stops. She later came under fire when one diner waitress accused her of not leaving a tip. The Clinton campaign contacted ABC News to assert that they did leave a tip. Her campaign was also accused of planting questions among audience members in Iowa.

Toward the end of the year, Clinton's campaign continued to diminish in Iowa, as Obama began beating her in the caucus polls, though she still took the lead ahead of Edwards.

Though she fought hard for Iowa, she ultimately lost the Democratic caucus in January, and has not returned to the state until now. Harkin's Steak Fry is this Sunday, and Vice President Joe Biden (and potential 2016 competitor) is scheduled to visit three days after.
