Google? Googe? Google?

Google has a very nice little tradition of modifying its logo for special occasions.  A friend here noticed that today’s Valentine-Day logo is–well, take a look. Do you think the letter "l" is missing?  Or is it the stem of the strawberry?  It provoked some light-hearted debate here today; a big more pleasant than wars and politics.  Actually, we’re told, Google has one bright guy named Dennis Hwang, who doodles up Google logos on the side.  Some of the site’s past creations are HERE, and they’re quite lovely.

Many thanks for the link to the past Google commemorative logos, Ned. I always enjoy going to Google on holidays to see how they’ve modified their logo, and on the less-obvious days, to try to guess exactly what they’re commemorating. (One of my favorite logo variations was the one commemorating Piet Mondrian’s birthday.) And, just for the record, I think the Google “g” is in the chocolate dripping from the strawberry, while the “l” is indeed the strawberry stem.
