What Do Women Want to Watch on TV?

What do women want?

It’s an age-old question and it’s getting a lot tougher for TV networks to answer because, evidently, a lot of women are tuning out the TV.

It’s mostly background music, says a new study from Solutions Research Group.

In this episode of the “New Media Minute,” Daisy Whitney calls into question the data on how many hours a day the TV is on.

Because when it comes to women, only half say they usually pay full attention while watching their favorite shows. And that’s because about 50 percent of women with laptops said they have them on frequently or almost always when watching TV.

My wife and I both have our computers set up very nicely in the living room in front of the TV and if the TV was on neither of us were really ever watching it. TV in general is a snooze fest. We actually referred to turning it on as “just having it playing in the background”.

Recently we got tired of the cable overlords raising the price literally every month and we cut the cable to the bare basic and kept only that because it’s actually cheaper than having internet alone from the evil Comcast Empire. For a month we didn’t even realize that without the cable box we had no TV tuner to watch the basic channels even if we wanted to. Our reaction – we laughed.

Well, I certainly won’t be watching ABC anymore. You are a bunch of weenies. Why won’t you let the ad run that opposes Obama’s healthcare reform? I thought this was the USA not Iran.

Women have no other medium for spending time. That is why they prefer to watch Tv.

What women prefer to watch has at least to me, seemed to change over the years. I know my wife loves to watch a nice gory scary kinda movie. And even action movies too. Forget Football though, I don’t think that will ever change! lol

At first I was in denial about what you proclaimed until I realized that the TV is on as I write this comment. The funny thing is, I am not really watching it. I know it is there but just to fill the quiet space and I turn it on out of habit.
