‘Subject: For sale one lunar rover’
EmailThe Scientist, an often-provocative life-sciences magazine, says the following classified ad was really posted on its site: "For sale one Lunar Rover $500,000.00 no offers. One careful owner low mileage buyer collects. Cash offer and I will throw in a camera." Take a look at the posting HERE. Beware the "buyer collects" part.

Somehow I doubt the poster actually owns the vehicle (unless you count all taxpayers), but it’s pretty funny anyway.

I couldn’t find any vehicle history for it on CarFax, which means it probably hasn’t been maintained for years. Oh well, it’s not like it qualifies for the Cash for Clunkers program anyway.

If its been vacuumed sealed on the Moon so I imagine it should be rust free.. That’s a good selling point.

It would be interesting to know who really owns that vehicle, and even more thrilling would be to see it really auctioned off. Of course the new owner would have to wait for some time before it could be recovered, but what an amazing investment it would be! The day when the recovery of that vehicle is not that distant.
Millions of dollars might be bid for the rover that could be immediately reinvested into new science. It isn’t a bad idea…

What about replacement parts? Is there a 100,000 miles or 7 year warranty — depending on which ever comes first? How do we know the parts won’t corrode in the lunar regolith?

dont buy it!!!! its a scam. apperently the americans never made it to the moon. it was all a conspiracy!!!! dont get tricked out of you re money!!!
when you go to pick it up, it wont be there, and you will feel stupid.
