Madelyn Wins Out in Facebook Poll to Name Baby

What’s in a name? A lot, according to the more-than-4,200 people who took the time to vote in Facebook poll to determine what Dave and Lindsey Meske of Crystal Lake, Ill., should name their newborn baby daughter.
The Meskes set up the poll, which drew votes from places as far off as Germany, New Zealand and Iceland, after finding themselves unable to decide on a baby name they both agreed on.
“Lindsey had more friends and family on Facebook, so I had to even the playing field,” Dave Meske, 27, told the Chicago Tribune, explaining the couple’s decision to open it up to the public.
Voters were allowed to choose between four names McKenna, Addilyne, Madelyn and Emily. One of Dave Meske’s choices, Madelyn, came in first with 1,310 votes , followed by Emily with 1,265 votes. McKenna, came in third with 938 votes and Addilyne got last with 687 votes.
Madelyn was born Tuesday, weighing 7 pounds, 14 ounces. She joins a 4-year-old sister, Brianna.

Well, I didn’t know about this voting or I would have voted for Madelyn as well. My beautiful, incredibly smart and talented 1st child is named Madelyn. Her father picked the name while we were dating, but looking forward to getting engaged. Out of the blue he asked if we ever had a daughter could we name her Madelyn and my heart melted. No contest :)

The simple fact that SOCIAL media has become MEDIA for MEDIA MOGULS is disturbing. Where dose Being abc News bring you t Social Networks? or any other business for that matter? It makes no sense and the fact that this has happened is proof that FACEBOOK and the concept of it was corrupted. Money was the deciding factor. Those of you that have FACEBOOK accounts, I feel sorry for you. You have been roped into an arena that is now selling wares and not dedicated to Social networking. Your information is in the WORLD FOREVER now. You are asking to be exposed and destroyed. I will have no sympathy.
Prediction;
Within 5 years Facebook will be going out and a New form will take its’ place. They will be as deserted as MYSPACE. Remember that? LOL trendy is temporary. Get a CLUE and a REAL friend and you will not need Social Media.

We also chose this name for our now 7-year old….it’s classic/modern and beautiful…..
