I certainly hope this unit is better than the GE frig we bought several years ago with door water and ice. The Ice maker is the most poorly designed mechanical unit I have ever seen (engineer since early 1970,s). We have given up on repairs (12 service calls on unit) and returned to ice trays. Several repairmen stated that the GE icemaker was, by itself, the majority of all their calls for all appliances.
