He had a rare combination of being able to see a concept, and then program it into reality. Many people have ideas, many people can program, but he had the rare ability to do both. Unfortunately, he had the mindset of a thief. Whatever anyone does, I can have for free. I can give it away, too. How do you think that other workers support themselves? By giving their work away? That "revenue stream" supports the very people who create the information that he stole! The only reason that he had any legal problems at all was because he stole other peoples work to give it away. An author works for a couple of years writing a novel, or a symphony, and then someone else sees a chance to give it away. Wonderful for those people who can enjoy the work for nothing, but it does not put food on the authors table or a roof overhead. While I greatly admire his ability to program, I thoroughly despise his thieving mentality. He brought the legal problems on himself by stealing others work. Then, instead of being a man and taking his just rewards for stealing, he commits suicide. Aaron was without question one of the great computer minds of the Internet. They might as well have executed him and gotten it over and done with, instead of tormenting him for years in court and driving him to suicide. I'll never understand the depth of depraved greed by those who are supposed to help educate and save the world. There isn't much hope if those entrusted with the next generation ruthlessly use the legal system against those with the very ideals their institutions are supposed to engender in students.
