While a new study from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety shows a sharp decline in the number of deadly crashes among 16-year-olds in the last decade, parents can always do more to help their teens stay safe on the road. "Good Morning America" offered the following "Takeaway" tips for parents:

Leave Friends at Home: Teens often get distracted when their friends are in the back seat.
Not at Night: Teens who are just learning to drive should stay off the road after sundown.
Control is the Key: Parents should have control over the car keys and teens learning to drive should be required to get permission each time they want to use the car.
