Shushannah Walshe is a Digital Political Journalist for ABC News. On March 11 th Walshe will leave her post in New York to join the ABC News Washington bureau, where she will continue to cover politics for broadcast and ABCNews.com, including the upcoming midterm elections, Capitol Hill and early 2016 movements.
In July 2011, Walshe joined ABC News Digital to cover campaign fundraising, early primary contests and caucuses. In November 2011, Walshe went to Iowa, where she began the popular Good Morning Iowa newsletter for ABCNews.com, a round-up of top news stories across the state.
After Rick Santorum's victory in Iowa, ABC News assigned Walshe to cover the Santorum campaign and later, vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan. Throughout 2012, Walshe reported from the campaign trail where she broke news on a variety of stories, including Mitt Romney's fundraising tactics and high-dollar donors, along with the continued fallout in the Republican Party after the GOP's loss.
Prior to joining ABC News Walshe was a politics and on-air reporter for The Daily Beast and NY1. In 2001, Walshe joined the Fox News Channel where she reported on breaking news, including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Hurricane Katrina and the 2008 presidential campaign.
Walshe is the co-author of "Sarah From Alaska: The Sudden Rise and Brutal Education of a New Conservative Candidate," a 2009 bestseller that chronicles Sarah Palin's political life and historic campaign. She holds an undergraduate degree from Boston University.
