Fashion and food do meet on occasion. In this case, a golden ice cream bar was the catalyst for an elaborate 24K gold dress designed by "Project Runway" judge Zac Posen.
The $1.5 million dress was announced in conjunction with the launch of Magnum Gold, an ice cream bar made with a golden chocolate coating.
Inspired by melting ice cream, Posen created the couture gown with 10,000 hand-embroidered 24K gold sequins. It took two weeks to sew the sequins shaped in a variety of sizes on the dress using a hand-embroidered technique.
"Creating my first-ever 24-karat gold dress was a truly priceless experience," said Posen in a statement. "I'm naturally drawn to luxury and love to push my creativity, so the design process of creating a couture dress made of gold was thrilling."
The dress will make its debut at the Tribeca Film Festival for the premiere of a short film starring "True Blood's" Joe Manganiello on April 18.
