Pink is the latest celebrity to be invited to a military ball by an active duty service member, only this time there's a twist: the person asking is a female soldier.
Spc. Joanna "Jo" Wehr, an Army mechanic on her second deployment in Afghanistan, posted a musical invitation to the singer on YouTube using the tune of Pink's song "Perfect."
"Pretty, pretty please would you consider joining me to my formal for the Army," Wehr, 25, sings in uniform, while strumming a guitar and leaning against an Army cargo truck. "Pretty, pretty please it'd be so amazing to take a fellow girl from Pennsylvania with me."
Wehr, who wants to take the 33-year-old singer to her unit's welcome home ball at Fort Bliss, Texas, in December, is hoping the fact that her hometown of Barnesville, Pa., is near Pink's hometown of Doylestown and that Pink's father is a Vietnam vet, will help sway the singer.
"I know she's a supporter of our brothers and sisters in arms, past and present," she told the Army Times.
Wehr said that although she is gay and has long had a crush on the singer, she extended the invite out of her respect and admiration for Pink.
"I've always loved her music and her attitude, because she's truly like no other female artist," Wehr told the publication.
Pink is already spoken for. She's married to motocross racer Carey Hart, and they have a 2-year-old daughter, Willow.
Pink is also a vocal supporter of gay rights. She recently tweeted, "Fun fact: when you twitter me and say 'you're a lesbian' it really doesn't bother me at all. It's a compliment. Most of my fav ppl are."
The singer's rep did not respond immediately to ABCNews.com's request for comment.
If Pink says yes to Wehr, she will join the ranks of actors Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis and reality star Kristin Cavallari, all of whom have accepted invitations from service members to attend a military ball.
