It's good to be the king, but perhaps best not to brag about it.

Miami Heat superstar LeBron James caused a stir after posting a video of himself and fiancée Savannah Brinson receiving some decidedly royal treatment, namely a wrong-way police escort to avoid heavy traffic en route to a Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z concert in Miami.

"Light police escort on the wrong side of the street," James said in the video. "Heading to the big homie concert, JT Holla!"

"They treat us so well! Needed it cause traffic was nuts!!," read the caption for the video.

The video prompted the Miami-Dade police to initiate an investigation into the incident that concluded the officer involved violated department policy.

"It has been brought to our attention that a video was posted on the Internet by LeBron James, a professional basketball player, where it shows him being escorted onto the property of Sun Life Stadium for a concert," Miami-Dade police said in a statement.

"His was not a scheduled escort and although all safety precautions were taken, the department has identified these actions as violating department policies," the statement concluded.

There has been no word yet from Miami-Dade police on any potential disciplinary action for the officer involved.

The video has drawn mixed reactions from James' Instagram followers, with some users upset he would brag about his celebrity treatment.

"Your head is too big, you have too much pride…That's not good, then you have the nerve to post it," wrote one user "_loveeemeee_."

Other users weren't as bothered.

"People need to lighten up man. Celebrities get special attention, always have and always will in our country," wrote user "danthemanfl."

A spokesperson for James could not immediately be reached for comment, though James' most recent Instagram post may address the backlash generated by his video.

"Whenever you're happy and in a great place in anything, someone or something will try to put a virus in it to make it all unravel," the Instagram photo read.
