Pink, the Grammy Award-winning pop rock singer, is taking on new challenges.
She just made her movie debut in "Thanks for Sharing," a comedy-drama that stars Gwyneth Paltrow and Mark Ruffalo.
The film opens in theaters today, and in it, Pink - who was born Alecia Moore - plays a recovering sex addict.
She talked to ABC News' Nick Watt about the film, and described how she was cast.
"The director said he [was] looking for a lovable tough girl with a soft center," she recalled. "I like to think I'm lovable … definitely tough."
Asked if she had a soft center, the edgy performer replied: "Yes. The hardest shells have the gooiest centers."
Becoming a mother has certainly softened her image. She claims it has fed her success.
"I think since I became a mom, people are less afraid of me. I seem a little more human," she said.
Pink, 34, also chatted with Watt about her successful music career. Earlier this week, Billboard magazine named the "So What" singer its Woman of the Year.
"I'm humbly just walking around saying, 'Really? Thanks. Thank you,'" she said.
Pink is currently on a world tour accompanied by her daughter, 2-year-old Willow Grace, and her husband, motocross racer Carey Hart, 38. The couple's relationship has been tumultuous. Before they got married, they were an on-again, off-again couple. After they wed, they separated and reconciled.
When Watt asked her how she and her husband were doing now, she said: "I have trained him … so well. I get them young and train them. … We've trained each other. We've grown up together."
Watt asked Moore if she and Pink were the same person.
"Yes! That's so weird," she said, acknowledging that her stage name and persona were who she really was in her private life.
And if music, motherhood, marriage and movies weren't enough, Moore is now a spokeswoman for the makeup line, CoverGirl.
"Can't you tell," the singer joked with a smile.
