His speech clocked in at more than 21 hours. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) fake-filibustered on the Senate floor for almost a full day (starting Tuesday afternoon and ending Wednesday at noon) to attempt to block legislation that would grant funds for Obamacare implementation.

To keep things interesting - and possibly to keep himself awake - Cruz included quotes from reality television, country stars and even Dr. Seuss.

Here are some of the most memorable moments from the Texas senator's very long speech:

Toward the beginning of his speech on Tuesday, Cruz said, "Most Americans could not give a flying flip about a bunch of politicians in Washington. Almost all of us are in cheap suits with bad haircuts. Who cares?"

Just 15 minutes into his remarks, Cruz attempted to draw an analogy between politics and the world of wrestling, saying, "It's a little bit like the World Wrestling Federation. It's wrestling matches where … the outcome is pre-rigged, the outcome is predetermined. They know who's going to win and it's all for show."

Not forgetting to cite his inspirations, Cruz thanked Ashton Kutcher for his positive youth influence on Tuesday afternoon, explaining, "Some time ago I tweeted a speech that Ashton Kutcher gave. It's a terrific speech. It was a speech at one of these award shows where he talked about the value of hard work. And one of the things I remember he said is … in my life, opportunity looks an awful lot like hard work. That was a great message. It was a great message to young people…I don't know Mr. Kutcher. I've watched his TV shows and his movies. I don't know him personally, but you know what? He can speak to millions of young people who've never listened to you and would never listen to me."

Cruz delved a bit into the plight of college students at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, but the plight was not over student debt. "Think of all the people that don't get jobs because there's no White Castle open, not to mention all of the hungry college kids that at 3:00 in the morning are just craving a White Castle, and they can't find one," he said.

In one of his most memorable moments, Cruz read a bedtime story to his daughters who were watching from home. "I do not like green eggs and ham," Cruz read at around 8 p.m. on Tuesday night. A member of Cruz's staff later tweeted a photo of Cruz's daughters watching their father on C-SPAN as he read them the story.

Quoting the reality television show 'Duck Dynasty,' Cruz told Sen. Mike Lee (R-Ut.), "Jeff said 'Faith, family and facial hair… I point out to the junior senator from Utah, if we continue doing this long enough, we may have facial hair on the floor of the Senate."

Cruz continued full steam ahead into Wednesday morning, saying at almost 9 a.m., "I wondered if at some point we were going to see a tall gentleman in a mechanical breathing apparatus come forward and say in a deep voice, 'Mike Lee, I am your father.' This is a fight to restore freedom to the people. This is a fight to get the Washington establishment the empire, to listen to the people. And just like in the 'Star Wars' movies…the empire will strike back. But at the end of the day, I think the rebel alliance, I think the people will prevail."
