Today is the 4th of July, so go forth to eat hot dogs, watch baseball, go to a parade, take in a movie and watch fireworks. Don't forget to hydrate. It's hot out.
If you've eaten four hot dogs today and think you're stuffed...well, you've got nothing on Joey Chestnut and Sonya Thomas.
Both were re-crowned the reigning champs of the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest today.
Chestnut earned his seventh straight title in the men's race by scarfing 69 hot dogs and setting a new world record. He ate 18 more hot dogs than his nearest competitor.
In the women's race, Sonya Thomas, of Alexandria, Va., picked up her third consecutive title. The "Black Widow" as she is known ate 36 and three-quarters hot dogs and buns to win the women's competition.

There was coup. President Mohammed Morsi was ousted from power by the military. Egypt's chief justice, Adly Mansour, was sworn in as interim president. The military placed Morsi under house arrest. Morsi denounced the military's decision and called the action a "full coup."
Mansour will serve until new elections are held. No date has been given on the elections.

The hole is estimated to be at least 10 feet deep and authorities believe a water main break beneath the road may be the culprit, according to the AP. A crane was used to pull the car from the hole.

Ashlee Simpson, younger sister of Jessica Simpson, has been spotted holding hands with music icon Diana Ross' son Evan.
And it must be serious because they went out twice in 24 hours. Simpson, 28, and Ross, 24, first hung out Monday night at the Roosevelt Hotel, staying until 1:30 a.m. At the end of their night, Ross led way out of the hotel's club Teddy's, guiding her with his right hand, while casually enjoying a smoke in his left.
We'll keep you posted on whether this turns out to be "Endless Love." (That's a Diana Ross song, guys.)
