|The Best Quotes From the Miley Cyrus Rolling Stone Interview|

Miley Cyrus has been making headlines lately for, well, everything. First there was her now infamous performance at the MTV Video Music Awards ("We made history, was her sentiment), and then her rep confirmed that the 20-year-old had split from fiancé Liam Hemsworth.
Recently, Cyrus, who is set to release her new album Bangerz next month, gave Rolling Stone magazine a glimpse into her life these days -- and it's pretty great. In the story, Cyrus gets a tattoo, goes skydiving, and drinks a specialty cocktail (Gatorade and Malibu), all while discussing her life. From the rapper she considers a "homie" to how she feels about Justin Bieber, click through to see the highlights from the interview.
Cyrus lives in the Toluca Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles where her neighbors are "Diddy's baby mama" and Steve Carell. "He always gives me the stank-eye because I drive so fast," she said. "The other day I was trying to reverse and I almost hit a thousand things, and I was getting nervous because I could see him [looking annoyed] I'm like, oh, my God, Dan in Real Life is watching me right now!"
Cyrus doesn't understand why certain parts of her VMA performance were edited -- or, maybe even why any of it was edited at all. "America is just so weird in what they think is right and wrong," she said. "Like, I was watching 'Breaking Bad' the other day, and they were cooking meth. I could literally cook meth because of that show. It's a how-to. And then they bleeped out the word 'f--k.' And I'm like, really? They killed a guy, and disintegrated his body in acid, but you're not allowed to say 'f--k'? It's like when they bleeped 'molly' at the VMAs. Look what I'm doing up here right now, and you're going to bleep out 'molly'? Whatever."
Before her VMA performance, she met with Kanye West. "He came in and goes, 'There are not a lot of artists I believe in more than you right now. The whole room went quiet. I was like, 'Yo – can you say that again?!'" she said with a laugh. "I just kept repeating that over and over in my mind, and it made me not nervous." Afterward, however, the two recorded a remix of his song, "Black Skinhead" and West complimented her performance. "Kanye is the s--t," she said, adding that he bought her five pairs of Céline fur slippers. "I kind of have a good relationship with him now. It's good to have someone you can call and be like, 'Yo, do you think I should wear this?' 'Do you think I should go in the studio with this guy?' 'Do you think this is cool?' That's what homies are supposed to do."
"I wasn't trying to be sexy," she said. "If I was trying to be sexy, I could have been sexy. I can dance a lot better than I was dancing." She also remarked that her hairdo made her look like "a little creature" and that she has "the flattest ass ever. "I'm like, I'm 108 pounds! I know! Now people expect me to come out and twerk with my tongue out all the time. I'll probably never do that s--t again."
Though Cyrus called her duet with Robin Thicke "handsy," she refused to take all the blame for what some have called an "inappropriate" performance." "No one is talking about the man behind the ass. It was a lot of 'Miley twerks on Robin Thicke,' but never, 'Robin Thicke grinds up on Miley.' They're only talking about the one that bent over. So obviously there's a double standard."
Cyrus said that she hangs out with fellow singer Justin Bieber, 19, "a little bit." "But not really. I'm not much older than him, so I never want it to feel like I'm mentoring him. But I do mentor him in a way. Because I've been doing this s--t for a long time, and I already transitioned, and I don't think he's quite done it yet," she said. "People don't take him seriously, but he really can play the drums, he really can play guitar, he really can sing. I just don't want to see him f--k that up, to where people think he's Vanilla Ice. I tell him that. Like, 'You don't want to become a joke. When you go out, don't start s--t. Don't come in shirtless.' But the thing is, I think boys are, like, seven years behind. So in his head, he's really, like, 12."
"She could never do this, so she wanted it for me," Cyrus said of her mom, Tish, who wanted to be an entertainer, but was hampered by anxiety. "I get anxiety too, and she didn't want my anxiety to ever stop me from doing it the way it stopped her." Now, the two travel together a lot. "When she's being embarrassing, she'll call me 'sweet girl,'" Cyrus added. "When we were getting ready for the VMAs, I was about to put on my teddy-bear costume and she's like, 'Sweet girl, do you need to potty before you put your costume on?' I'm like, 'Mom! Kanye is standing right here!'"
