Immediately after boyfriend Kanye West proposed, Kim Kardashian was seen flashing her enormous engagement ring.
The ring is a 15-carat diamond designed by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, a favorite of celebrities and the mastermind behind the stunning engagement sparklers worn by Blake Lively and Beyonce.
West, who is a designer himself, was involved in creating the ring from the beginning, according to the designer's rep,
"Kanye was involved in every single way. He had a vision from the beginning. He looked at a lot of stones and he wanted only the best," a rep for Lorraine Schwartz told E! online. "He and Lorraine emailed back and forth, and stayed up nights discussing how he wanted it to be. He wanted the diamond to look like it was floating on air. Everything was his idea from beginning to end."
Schwartz designed Kardashian's previous engagement ring given to her by second husband Kris Humphries. The emerald-cut diamond, flanked by a 2-carat trapezoid on both sides, weighed in at 20.5 carats. Although it might seem that the NBA player gave Kardashian the bigger rock, the rapper's diamond is considered more valuable.
"The ring is flawless. Not just internally flawless, it's flawless. It's a D-stone, the best diamond there is, type 2A," Schwartz's rep told E! "It's a perfect cushion cut diamond."
And it's reportedly worth several million dollars.
Humphries' ring reportedly retailed for $2 million and was auctioned after their 72-day marriage ended for a mere $749,000.

When Nick Cannon proposed to Mariah Carey in April 2008, he gave her a 17-carat emerald-cut, light-pink diamond, surrounded by 58 intense pink diamonds and two half-moon diamonds. The ring, designed by Jacob & Co.'s Jacob Arabo, is reportedly worth $2.5 million.
Like West, Justin Timberlake knew just the ring he wanted to propose to longtime love Jessica Biel in December 2011. The "Suit & Tie" singer collaborated with Leor Yerushalmi of The Jewelers of Las Vegas to create the vintage-style, square-cut diamond engagement ring with an 18-carat stone and two aquamarine features to represent Biel's birthstone. "I had no say whatsoever [in the ring]. I don't micromanage," Biel told InStyle. "He is fearless in his choices and has a real eye for design. And I'll be honest: He has better taste than I do."
Before West turned to Lorraine Schwartz to create a ring for Kardashian, his pal Jay-Z hired the designer to create the 18-carat flawless diamond that he put on longtime love Beyonce's finger. The ring is reportedly valued at more than $5 million. After the couple said their "I-do's" in secret, Beyonce began wearing her exquisite bling in public.
When it comes to big, Paris Hilton's then-fiancé Paris Latsis proposed with a 24-carat emerald-cut engagement ring reportedly worth $4.7 million. But, according to Us Weekly, after the hotel heiress complained to the Greek shipping heir that her finger was hurting because the ring was too heavy, he got her a more manageable platinum eternity band from Cartier. Five months after Latsis proposed, Hilton broke off the engagement and later auctioned her huge rock for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
It should come as no surprise that the actress who put bling in celebrity, Elizabeth Taylor, would top the list of biggest engagement rings. Actually, the 33-carat Asscher-cut stone once known as the Krupp Diamond and now known as the Elizabeth Taylor Diamond, was given to the actress by her husband Richard Burton four years into their marriage. He purchased the Harry Winston ring, believed to be internally flawless, at a 1968 auction for $305,000. It fetched $8,818,500 at auction in December 2011.
