— -- Looks like Bradley Cooper's gamble to bring "The Elephant Man" back to Broadway paid off.

Cooper and his co-stars Alessandro Nivola and Patricia Clarkson were among the Tony Award nominees announced this morning. "The Elephant Man" is also up for best revival of a play.

But Cooper is not the only A-list Hollywood star with hits on the Great White Way.

Helen Mirren, who won an Oscar for playing Queen Elizabeth in "The Queen," has been nominated for a Tony for portraying the same role on stage in "The Audience."

She will be competing against fellow Hollywood stars Elisabeth Moss, Carey Mulligan and Ruth Wilson in the best actress in a play category.

On the musical side, "An American in Paris" and "Fun Home" lead the nominations, with 12 each. "Something Rotten!" received 10.

Sting's musical "The Last Ship" earned a nomination for the pop star for music and lyrics. It also received a nomination for best orchestration.

Previous Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth is nominated for her role as an up-by-her-bootstraps Hollywood starlet in "On the Twentieth Century." She will also host the awards ceremony, alongside Tony winner Alan Cumming, when they air live June 7.
