— -- Kermit's relationship drama has played out in the spotlight for all to see. Despite a rough patch and a very public breakup, he's now in a new romance this Valentine's Day and offering his take on love.

After Kermit's shocking breakup with his longtime boo Miss Piggy, fans shared a collective gasp. But Kermit says it’s best to keep your eyes on the prize and "always follow your heart." At least that's what he's doing. When his relationship with Miss Piggy took a surprising leap in the wrong direction, Kermit moved on. And now, much to the dismay of some onlookers, he appears to have found happiness with new girlfriend Denise.

Granted, she may not share Miss Piggy's style and winsome personality, but Kermit tells ABC News "you have to let the past be the past" and sometimes just hop right into something new.

"For all you single gals and guys out there, play the field," advises Kermit in a new video just in time for the holiday. "Your soulmate may be just around the corner."

And he may just be on to something. Seems within reason you may have to kiss more than one frog to find your prince.

Kermit added that's it's best to "always keep it friendly" with the ex because you never know when your paths will cross again. "Hell hath no fury like a pig scorned," he says. "Trust me."

Kermit the Frog can be seen on “The Muppets” Tuesday nights on ABC.
