Joe Biden
Joe Biden likes to talk. And that could be both his greatest asset and his greatest liability. Born November 20, 1942, Biden later moved to Delaware. He received his B.A. from the University of Delaware in 1965 and a law degree from Syracuse in 1968. In 1972, at only 29, Biden defeated a long serving Republican to earn spot in the Senate. But the victory was bittersweet. Before he was sworn-in, Biden's wife and youngest daughter were killed in a car accident just outside Washington. The Senator sought the Democratic nomination for President in 1987 but ultimately left the contest amidst controversy. Returning to the Senate, Biden kept his slot as chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where he presided over the confirmation hearings of failed Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork, and now-Justice Clarence Thomas. He currently chairs the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and is most vocal on the issue of Iraq.
