— -- intro: Today ABC News released a brand new iPad App. (You can download it right here.) The spinning globe has been replaced with a brand new interface, which changes based on the time of day. There's lots of information about the entirely new app here, but you won't want to miss this short guide before you launch it on your iPad.

quicklist: 1title: Time is Everything url:Category: Different Editionstext: What you see and how you see it depends on what time it is on your watch or your iPad's clock. There are three editions or layouts -- the Morning, Midday, and Primetime Editions. The app reads the time on your iPad and then determines which edition is delivered to your iPad. The morning edition feeds you one main story, has a list of headlines, and includes a "5 Things To Know This Morning" article by "Good Morning America's" Josh Elliott. The Primetime edition focuses on video, with a video carousel up top and other articles and videos below.

The homescreen displays the current weather and location, and when you get into the app a weather widget along the top displays the current temperature. Tap it and you can see the hourly or three-day forecast.

In addition to the weather, all eight ABC owned television stations will offer customized editions with regional news headlines, weather, and traffic reports. Also the main homescreen will show a local image. The KABC-TV Los Angeles iPad app will launch today. WABC-TV in New York, WLS-TV in Chicago, WPVI-TV in Philadelphia, KGO-TV in San Francisco, KTRK-TV in Houston, WTVD-TV in Raleigh-Durham and KFSN-TV in Fresno are scheduled to release their own apps in the next few weeks.
