Thank you, bill. Now, to the latest, harrowing details coming out about the hostage crisis in north africa. We have an exclusive interview with the wife of one american who narrowly escaped death, hiding from the terrorists for more than two days. Abc's brian ross has the story. And brian is with us this morning. Reporter: It was four days of terror, seen in these first videos from inside, recorded by one of the hostages. And broadcast by algerian tv. Based on official accounts, at least 37 of these men were either executed by the terrorists or killed in rescue attempts. Three of them, american. Gordon lee rowan, frederick buttaccio, and victor lovelady of texas. Don't go. Nothing happens there in so long. Reporter: Among the americans able to get out, was stephen of colorado. Whose wife told clayton sandell, of his harrowing tale. My feeling of it is he's been to hell and back. Reporter: His wife says her husband hid from the terrorist in his office at the gas plant, often under his desk, before making a run for it. He was there, in hiding, for two or three days. In feet of the terrorists at times. There were friends that didn't make it. He said there were times when he truly thought he was going to die. Reporter: The leader behind the al qaeda group behind the attack, is now the number one target, in a rapidly expanding u.S./French military operation near his base, in the african country of mali, where the first transport planes were put into action on monday. Officials say the attackers were heavily-armed with sophisticated weapons. And their leader has threatened more attacks against american and european targets in the area soon. George? Brian, thank you.
