In this new installment of Know Your Federal Holiday, I explore the origin and trivia of Independence Day (aka the 4th of July).

Now, July 4th is probably the best-known federal holiday -- maybe because it marks our country's independence from Great Britain, or maybe becase we really, really like hot dogs.

In any case, I took to the streets to find out if people really know why we celebrate Independence Day.
