Military continues to wind down its presence here in afghanistan. Here's what the announcement means. For the most part, american and afghan soldiers have been fighting the taliban, side-by-side, in the mountains, in the valleys, where the taliban are hiding. That is changing. As of this spring, it's afghan soldiers in the lead. They will be the ones initiating the combat with the taliban. The american soldiers will be here to advise and assist when they are requested to. The big test of all of this will be in the spring.
