day care worker has been arrested for doping children's snacks before nap time. Tammy epley is denying the charges, despite incriminating text messages. And gio benitez has that for us. Reporter: Tammy says she's just a mom running this day-care center out of her home in ohio. But police claim the mother of three was drugging the children she cared for. Including her own daughter. Slipping melatonin and ben drill into their snacks. Anytime I gave the children any medication, I had permission from the parents. Reporter: Police say they have a theory. The text messages, videos and voice recordings epley sent to a former friend. Apparently bragging about mixing the substances into snacks for the children in order to get them to sleep during the day. Including one text from epley, in which she says a child remarked that the sprinkles on some cup cakes tasted funny. Epley denied the allegations, claiming these texts and videos were taken out of context. She says her former friend is out to get her. I made jokes about it. Very off-color jokes that i regret. But I never said I did, in fact, do that. And she understood it was a joke. Reporter: Franklin county children services concluded an investigation last month and did not take action against epley. Calling the evidence against her, unsubstantiated. But police are pursuing the case. We thought there was enough proximate cause to charge her. Reporter: Epley faces six charges of child endangerment. She says she can't find a lawyer and has lost her day care business. The hardest part has been watching my kids suffer for it. I'm a good person. I'm not a mug shot. Reporter: For "good morning america," gio benitez, abc news, new york.
