Now, to mascara, because we can. We want to know what works best. Drugstore or designer? And which tube can you really trust? Becky worley got help from the experts to figure out what's best for your lashes. Take a look. The more outrageous, the better. Reporter: All these ads. Your lashes want volume or length? Reporter: Really? My eyelashes will look fuller, longer. But I have questions. Can any one brand of mascara really be that different from another? To find answers, I enlist makeup artists adriana in san francisco, to apply four brands of mascara to our subject, aspiring eyelash queen, chase roberts. We start with chanel's $30 a tube mascara. The chanel brush has a lot of bristols on it. It grabs on to the lashes. Reporter: It's on to lancome's oscillation mascara. Vibrates? It's vibrating. Reporter: This costs $36 a tube. And it's supercharged. The brush tip is battery-powered, shaking slightly to apply separation in the lashes. Next, a newcomer. Benefit's $23 a tube, they're real mascara. Those look like falsies. They look fake because they're dramatic. Reporter: Finally, the standby. Maybe lean great lash at 5 bucks a tube. It's more of a spiral. The other ones have spriks on em. Reporter: Time to look closely at the lashes. This is the chanel. All of the rashes are covered. But there is a little bit of clumping. I think the length is really good. Reporter: This is the lancome oscillating mascara. I don't see as thick of coverage of the last one. The length is there. Reporter: We're on to the benefit. It went on smooth. Nice and glossy. Reporter: Last one is maybe lean great lash. The black is really dark and really amazing. For the price, it's a good deal. Reporter: Which one did our lash lady love? I thought the coverage was good. It was smooth to afly. This one I like because it's luxurious and thicker. Reporter: Actually, they all kind of look the same. I don't see that much of a difference. After an upclose inspection, the great eyelash investigation is still kind of personal. I'd buy the cheap one. For "good morning america," becky worley, abc news, san francisco. I'm a great lash girl. I'm a voluminous girl. Mascara.
