Question: Are there any genetics tests that can tell me my risk for developing an anxiety disorder?
Answer: No, there are currently no genetic tests that are specific for any anxiety disorders. As a result, it does not make sense at this point to try to probe specific genetic tests that may be related to an anxiety disorder. However, what's incredibly hopeful, is that researchers are pursuing multiple avenues related to dopamine and serotonin and several other factors in the brain that may actually give us a clue as to whether there is a specific genetic mechanism underlying the transmission of anxiety disorders.
