Is It True That Dietary Supplements May Be The Best Treatment For Autism?

Question: Is it true that dietary supplements may be the best treatment for autism?

Answer: Supplements with vitamins may be particularly effective for some folks who don't eat the most balanced diet. However, nutritional supplements should just be one factor that's considered when considering treatment.

Psychological and behavioral interventions are particularly effective and a particular behavioral intervention called Applied Behavioral Analysis, or ABA for short, has the most scientific literature behind it demonstrating efficacy and benefit for individuals with autism. So any treatment plan should include a strong behavioral component.
