Fungal Meningitis Outbreak: 170 Cases, 14 Deaths

Two more people have died from fungal meningitis linked to tainted steroid injections, raising the death toll for the outbreak to 14. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention today reported that 169 people in 11 states have contracted fungal meningitis after receiving spinal injections of methylprednisolone acetate for back pain.
