The family of a sixteen year old special needs student is blaming the Los Angeles Unified School District for his drowning death. Eric Ortiz had autism and his family says they fought hard and got a full time teaching assistant assigned to be with him at all times. But on a field trip to a park Eric was found fully -- Floating at the deep -- -- -- pool authorities say they don't know -- Eric jumped or was pushed witnesses say Eric sank came to the surface took a breath. And sank again. At a news conference with their attorney the grieving family wanted to know where the teaching assistant was -- Kansas where it was TA why wasn't he with him. What was he taking care of him the school district has put out a statement extending its condolences to the family. Promising to cooperate with what is an ongoing police investigation. The boy's mother told TV station KT LA there was no mention of a pool at the park on the permission slip.
