NEW YORK -- Dale Weise is out for Thursday night's Game 6, although Montreal Canadiens coach Michel Therrien would not confirm the forward has a concussion, saying only it was a "body injury."

Weise was hammered by an illegal check to the head from the New York Rangers' John Moore in Game 5, costing the Rangers defenseman a two-game suspension. Weise went to the locker room but came back to finish Game 5.

Therrien insists concussion protocol was followed and the NHL on Thursday also told ESPN.com that the protocol was properly followed.

The league reminds clubs on a constant basis about the importance of following the protocol, stressing to teams that it's one of the league's highest priorities.

Defenseman Alexei Emelin, meanwhile, who missed Game 5 with an undisclosed injury, also didn't take part in the morning skate Thursday. Therrien said he was a game-time decision.

Brandon Prust will return to the lineup after missing two games because of a suspension for his hit on New York's Derek Stepan.

If Emelin can't go, Nathan Beaulieu will stay in the lineup. Beaulieu played alongside veteran Francis Bouillon in Game 5.

Bouillon was asked Thursday morning how exciting it is to think about the prospect of a Game 7 at home Saturday night if the Habs can pull it off at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night.

That seventh game would be the biggest game in Habs history since the 1993 Cup run.

"It would be incredible," Bouillon said. "It would be a unique experience. The big game to win is tonight, obviously. That's where our focus is. But if we can win tonight, we go home to our fans, and the city of Montreal would be crazy."

In other injury news, star goalie Carey Price once again took to the ice near the end of the Canadiens' morning skate. He took shots from his teammates for the first time and worked mostly with goalie coach Stephane Waite for about 30 minutes.

Therrien has said repeatedly Price will not play in this series.
