Midnight, a miniature horse born without part of his leg, has a new bounce in his step after being fitted with a $14,000 prosthetic leg. The Texas horse was neglected by his owners, but law enforcement seized the animal and brought him to Ranch Hand Rescue near Fort Worth, Texas, the Associated Press reported. To make Midnight an artificial leg, the group worked with Fort Worth-based Prosthetic Care, which makes prosthetic limbs for humans. They hoped that the new limb would simply help the animal walk. But after his second fitting, Midnight surprised the group by taking off in a joyful gallop. (ABC News)
