1. Louisville Player Has Surgery to Repair Broken Leg
Louisville Cardinal Kevin Ware has reportedly undergone successful surgery to repair a broken bone in his right leg. The basketball player, who sustained a gruesome injury during a game against Duke on Sunday night, is expected to remain in Indianapolis until at least Tuesday.
2. 75-Car Pile-Up Kills at Least 3
Thick fog is to blame for a massive car pile-up near the Virginia-North Carolina border on Sunday. Three people were killed and 25 were sent to the hospital with injuries.
3. Alaska State Troopers Helicopter Crashes
Three people are missing after an Alaska State Troopers' helicopter crashed during a search and rescue mission. The troopers were attempting to rescue a stranded snowmobiler. No survivors were found at the site of the crash.
4. Nelson Mandela's Condition Improving
The South African government put out a statement saying its former president Nelson Mandela is showing "further improvement" in his battle against pneumonia. His wife was seen arriving at the hospital in Pretoria over the weekend.
