1. Girl's Fatal Stabbing Prompts Manhunt

After door-to-door sweeps proved fruitless, law officers urged residents of a small town in Northern California to lock their door and keep a close eye on streets and yards for a man who stabbed an 8-year-old girl to death in her house.

2. Powerful Blast Injures Up to 40 in Prague

A powerful explosion damaged an office building in the center of the Czech capital, Prague, today, injuring up to 40 people, and authorities believe some people are still buried in the rubble.

3. Obama to Name Charlotte Mayor as Transportation Secretary

President Barack Obama is nominating Charlotte, N.C., Mayor Anthony Foxx, a rising star in Democratic politics, s the new Transportation secretary, a White House official said.

4. NBA Legend Michael Jordan Ties the Knot

Michael Jordan got married over the weekend, with Tiger Woods, Spike Lee and Patrick Ewing among those attending the NBA Hall of Famer's wedding to Yvette Prieto in Palm Beach, Fla.

5. Syrian Prime Minister Escapes Bomb Attack

Syria's prime minister escaped an assassination attempt today when a bomb went off near his convoy in Damascus, just the latest attack targeting a top official in President Bashar Assad's regime.
