r FOR A BODY IN MOTION. Finally tonight teetering on sky high heels. How long does it take before the average person feels the pain and is it worth it? Reporter: Call it the agony of "de-feet." These feet to be exact. And these -- and these too -- sky high heels are everywhere. They may look pretty, but stuffing your foot into a pair of stilettos can do permanent damage. Podiatrist dr. Hillary brenner said 40 percent of her patients have pain caused by high heels. Wearing high heels for long periods of time can lead to what? It can lead to surgery, severe pain. You might not even be able to run. Reporter: In an online survey, making headlines today, nearly half of women admit to repeatedly wearing unfomfortable shoes even when their feet hurt. And nearly 40 percent admit to walking home after a night out barefoot, because they just couldn't take the pain anymore. It may not be the most skin teenageric, but it rang true with many women. There's even a group of cocktail waitresses in connecticut, who have sued for the right not to wear heels. Why do you wear high heels? Because it makes me look nicer. And how much pain are you in? Always. A lot. Reporter: Women who wear heels also run the risk an un-flattering fall from grace. This is what happened to australia's prime minster -- ouch. But for these women the sky is still the limit. How do they make you feel? They make me feel great. It lifts everything up, not everything. Reporter: Walk on, ladies, walk on.
