The song was inducted into the Library of Congress National Recording Registry, in 2023. Buffett was also an author, penning such novels as "Tales from Margaritaville" and "Where is Joe Merchant?" and his memoir "A Pirate Looks at Fifty." Buffett died on Sept. 1, at the age of 76.
