Nominated three times for an Oscar but never a winner, actor Brad Pitt is the owner of multiple homes in Los Angeles, Cambodia, Berlin and he also spends his time in a rented property in France with Angelina Jolie and their six children. Pitt and Jolie reportedly purchased an Italian villa (pictured) for about $40 million in 2010, the Los Angeles Times reported. Located in the province of Verona, the property has 15 bedrooms, two pools, and several Jacuzzis.

Pitt also owned a home in Malibu, Calif. that he recently sold to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi for $12 million in December 2011, Zillow reported. He bought the home for $8.4 million in March 2005, shortly after his divorce from Jennifer Aniston.

Brad Pitt's reported A-list friend, George Clooney, purchased a home in Studio City, Calif., which includes three acres below a nature preserve, in 1995. That's when Clooney was starring in the medical drama, "ER." The home has eight bedrooms, a pool and tennis courts. Clooney also owns a home in Laglio, Italy, on Lake Como where he reportedly hangs with buddy Pitt.

Meryl Streep, who holds the record for the most Oscar nominations of any actor since her nomination in 1979 for "The Deer Hunter," reportedly owns property in New York City but lives with her family in rural Connecticut, about 70 miles away from Yale, where she received a Master in Fine Arts degree. Curbed reports Streep owns a penthouse in Tribeca's River Lofts and has celebrity couple Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin as neighbors. Streep reportedly purchased the property for $8.95 million, Curbed reported.

Glenn Close was nominated for her sixth Oscar for her portrayal as Albert Nobbs, a woman posing as a butler to survive in 19th-century Ireland. Born and raised in Connecticut, Close has for the most part remained on the East Coast, attending the College of William and Mary in Virginia before moving on to a career in theater. Close owns a property in Bedford Hills, N.Y., in Westchester County. Close might have a manageable commute for her role as a high-powered lawyer for the show, Damages, set in New York City. Its fifth and last season is expected to air this year. She reportedly also spends time in Maine with husband David Shaw, whom she married in 2006.

Long after playing a teenager alongside James Van Der Beek in "Dawson's Creek," the star of "My Week With Marilyn," Michelle Williams, reportedly now spends time with her daughter in a four-floor home in Brooklyn, N.Y. Williams purchased the home in 2005 with her late ex-fiance, Heath Ledger, for $3.6 million.

Already winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe, Williams will next star as "Glinda" in the film, "Oz: The Great and Powerful," alongside Mila Kunis and James Franco.

Winner of two Tony awards for her roles in "King Hedley II" in 2001 and "Fences" in 2010, Viola Davis is competing against Streep, Close and Williams for her role as maid Aibileen Clark in "The Help." She also has a role in Tom Hanks' film, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close."

Although spending a fair amount of time in New York, having roles in police dramas such as "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," Davis has lived in a five-bedroom, five-bath home in Granada Hills, Calif., with her husband since 2005, Zillow reported.

Melissa McCarthy, who was nominated for her role in the posse for "Bridesmaids," previously received an Emmy for the television show, "Mike and Molly." But she received her major television break for her role as Sookie St. James as a peppy chef and supportive best friend in "Gilmore Girls." McCarthy and her husband purchased a three-bedroom, two-bath home in Toluca Lake, Calif., outside Los Angeles, for $780,000 in 2009. McCarthy's husband is Ben Falcone, a writer who also had a role in "Bridesmaids" as McCarthy's love interest and air marshall. They have two daughters who were reportedly born in 2007 and 2010.

Perhaps before she settled down with her children, McCarthy once owned a property in West Hollywood that had a sale price of $1.2 million in September 2005, according to public records. That home was built in 1918 and sat on property that was 5,210 square feet.

Spielberg, who has already won three Academy Awards and several nominations, is up for best director for "War Horse," which he also co-produced. The famed director has homes in California and the Hamptons in New York, most of which he has owned for more than 20 years, Zillow reports. He bought his home in Malibu, pictured, in 1989 for $3.4 million. The home is 7,000 square feet, has seven bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and sits on an acre of beachfront property.

Jonah Hill, who is known for his comedic roles as a teenager, in films such as "Superbad," purchased a home in the Los Angeles suburb of Tarzana in July 2011 for $2.2 million. Hill, 28, also owns a ranch-style home off Mulholland Drive. The home has five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms and more than 4,500 square feet on one story.

Hill previously sold a condo in Hollywood in 2008 for $835,000.
