    Musician Lauryn Hill, 37, faces sentencing in New Jersey on May 6, 2013. She was charged with failing to file tax returns from 2005 to 2007 and has paid $50,000 of more than $500,000 she owes. Hill pled guilty in U.S. District Court in Newark in June 2012. She faces up to a year in prison but her attorney is seeking probation for her, the Associated Press reports.

    Actor Stephen Baldwin was arrested on Dec. 6 for failing to file New York State tax returns from 2008 to 2010. He was arraigned in court, released, and returned to court March 2013. Baldwin pled guilty in a plea deal that clears his record if he pays $300,000 within a year.

    Actor Wesley Snipes, known for his film roles in Blade and White Men Can't Jump, was released from prison on April 2 into house arrest. He received a three-year sentence behind bars in December 2010 for not filing returns while earning over $14 million between 1999 and 2001. His house arrest is expected to last until July 19, 2013.

    Country music singer Willie Nelson's tax troubles involved tax shelters the IRS disallowed. In 1984, the IRS reviewed his tax returns starting from 1972, findingy more than $6 million in unpaid taxes plus $10 million in interest and penalties. He sued his accounting firm and settled for an undisclosed amount.
