— -- These days, you're more likely to catch Drew Barrymore promoting her beauty and accessories empire, Flower, than appearing in a role on the big screen.

"Flower has changed my life because it lets me be a mom the way I want to be and I still get to do something meaningful and think about girls and women and empowering messages," Barrymore told E! News while promoting Flower's new eye wear line, sold exclusively at Walmart.

"I love movies but the hours right now for where my kids are in their life, it's few and far between that I'll work," she said.

Barrymore and husband, Will Kopelman, are parents to daughters, Olive, 2, and Frankie, 15 months.

The 40-year-old actress revealed to E! that she has turned down "a lot" of acting jobs over the last few years.

"Flower beauty is a full-time job," she said. "We do a lot of traveling for it. I do a lot of press. I go to labs all over the country, truly seeking out the most innovative things."

Barrymore recently told More magazine that she is determined to be a better parent than her own parents, actor John Drew Barrymore, the son of film legend John Barrymore, and aspiring actress Jaid Barrymore.

"I didn’t really have parents, you know?" the star told More. "And therefore the kind of parent I will be is a good, present parent. In a way, maybe that was a detriment to my youth, but it’ll be the biggest asset to my adulthood."
