— -- On the midseason finale of "Empire," Jamal was back with Skye, played by guest star Alicia Keys. Although Lucious was excited that his middle son seemed to be shedding his same-sex ways...not so fast. Jamal later told Skye he was still in love with his ex-boyfriend, Michael.

But Lucious had other women to worry about. Hakeem's ex-girlfriend, whom he sent away during the season one finale, had returned. But not for Hakeem.

Instead, we discovered that she was Mimi's wife. In fact, she was the person on the other end of the call when Lucious found Mimi crying over what he thought was a man in a previous episode. It seemed the two women had been scheming all along to take Lucious and Empire Records down.

Mimi called for the board of directors at Empire to vote to boot Lucious from the helm. And although Cookie, the Lyon brothers and other board members voted in favor of Lucious, at the end only one vote would decide: Hakeem's. Despite Cookie's wishes, Hakeem voted to kick his father out of his role at Empire. Did karma finally catch up with Lucious?

Across town, a tragedy happened: Andre's seemingly pregnant wife Rhonda was pushed down the stairs. But, by who? Did Anika do it? Viewers will have to wait until "Empire" returns to find out, but unfortunately for now, it seemed as if Rhonda was killed. When Andre tried to reach Rhonda, her phone just rang and rang and rang.
