April 26, 2014 — -- Jake Owen is just about a month into his Days of Gold tour and is quickly realizing how fast things change when you have a baby.

The country star, 32, and his wife Lacey had Olive Pearl in November 2012 and now the family is together on the road.

"It's way different from having some of my buddies ride the bus with me to just my wife and little girl," he told ABC News. "It went from having maybe some alcohol in my cabinet and things you do when you're single to having diapers in my cabinet."

He continued, "I sometimes open the cabinet and say 'Times have changed!'"

If you are going to travel the country with a 17-month-old you better baby-proof your tour bus and that's just what Owen and his wife did.

"She has her own little baby bunk and she's got an area to hang out and entertain herself," he said. "It's a lot of fun actually, I'm glad they get to come out on the road with me as much as they do. It would be really hard to not be around them."

An important stop on the tour for Owen is The Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

The Florida native will be performing as part of the Military Appreciation Day Ceremony which takes place on May 7.

"I've got a lot of friends I went to high school and college with [who are in the military]," he said. "Some are overseas right now. Some are still doing their thing here in the states right now. I'm very passionate about it and appreciative."

The only downside is May 7 just happens to be Owen's second wedding anniversary, something his wife understands, but he'll definitely have to make up for.

"I'll have to take my wife out somewhere nice," he said laughing.
