— -- In early 2011, photographer Catherine Opie was granted access into the home of Elizabeth Taylor shortly before her death at the age of 79.

She took photos of everything -- from her shoe collection to furs and jewelry. Even intimate items like engagement rings and letters from loved ones were open to the famed photographer.

Opie took photos from weeks before Taylor died in March 2011. She even took photographs after her death as items were being collected up for auction.

All these years later, Opie is releasing a new book, "700 Nimes Road," which was the address of Taylor's iconic home. The photos will also be on display at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles starting next year.

The Amazon description of the book reads, "The subjects are wildly diverse -- a dog-eared remote control manual, close-ups of Taylor's enormous closets, shelves of tchotchkes and priceless works of art--telling more about Taylor's life than any "celebrity" portrait ever could."
