That's just the way she wants it.

Asked by Glamour magazine if she's dating, the actress demurred.

"I am really focused on motherhood and work right now," she said.

Holmes, 35, is set to appear alongside Meryl Streep in the upcoming film, "The Giver" -- a "huge dream come true." Off-screen, she's often photographed shuttling her daughter with Cruise, Suri, now 8 years old, around New York City. Being a mother has completely changed her life.

"I've seen Frozen a lot. But the biggest change? I think you don’t know—I didn’t know how much love I had in me," she said. "It’s overwhelming. Every day I discover more about this spectacular human being I get to be the mother of."

She's also discovered new skills in the kitchen. The actress, who recently stepped away from her fashion line Holmes & Yang, likes cooking kid-friendly foods for her daughter.

"Plain pasta with butter is a hit," she said. "Chocolate-chip pancakes are a hit—together with chocolate-chip cookies. I do a homemade chicken finger. That’s a hit!"
