— -- For years, Kevin Sorbo played Hercules in the hot show "Hercules: The Legendary Journeys."

Now, he's angry that he's not featured in the new film about the mythical hero, starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

"We were sort of taken aback they wouldn't let me in that movie," he told Dish Nation. "We approached the director. I don't know what his reasons are. I don't know if it was political or ego or what it is, but to not put me in for a stupid little cameo? The audiences would've loved it."

Sorbo, 55, doesn't blame Johnson for the perceived slight. In fact, he added that the two worked out at the same gym for some time, and credited the former wrestler for being a "nice guy."

"I'm still on all over America... [and] in like, 50 countries around the world," he added. "To not put [me] in a cameo, to me, it's taking out the business out of show busness and it's just kind of stupid."

"Hercules" hits theaters Friday.
